Default Anyone done an AFR vs. All Pro comparison?

As the title says, anyone done an AFR 225 vs. All Pro comparison yet? Or any other heads that stack up to these beasts? I may be in the market for some heads real soon and need to get the low down on these monsters.

Thanks.

On the dyno? on the flow bench? hand ported or not?

If you have the money and are willing to pay good enough talent, I would say that the All Pro can get you more, just ain't gonna be cheap.

I'm sure Tony will have something to say here... but if you are looking for a out of the box bolt on head, the AFR will win that.... if you are trying to win a race and have a big checkbook then the All Pro is the choice.

The AFR will be the out of the box head to get. The All pro's have much bigger ports for the bigger cube guys. Like I said before, All Pro's prolly won't favor much for the 400 cube and less crowd. They start at 230cc's as cast and flow 293 @ .600. Your port will only get bigger from there. AFR's are 320ish at .600 and only 225cc's. Each head has a diffrent market. Not really much to compare between the 2.

Ok, my specs these would be going on is an 11:1CR 408 with a health cam (240-250 range duration and 600+ lift on a 114 most likely), it's built for nitrous use and will see at least a 175 shot in the beginning and will move up to a DP 300 shot or so later.

In that case I would get a set of Stage 3 AFR castings from TEA with there nitrous exaust port. By the time you buy the All pro's and then have someone port them to what you need, you'll have an *** load in them.

I paid $2950 for mine and sent them my own spring kit. I would venture to say $3200 if you bought it all from them. There some bad heads. They'll put your nitrous numbers through the roof.

The All Pro flow alot less then the 225's (out of the box) and the port is already larger at 230 cc's. The port have to become much larger and less efficient before its equal or better than the AFR (flow wise) out of the box at a fraction of the cost

I just bought a set of springs myself to go on some other heads that don't flow so well.
