Default 717rwhp 03 Zo6 N/a

Weekend before last I run into this older guy at a cruise in car show. He had a 03 Silver ZO6 with the 427CI Lingenfelter setup. The car was stunning under the hood to say the least. FAST 90/90 setup and the whole works. It said Lingenfelter on the heads as well, plain as day. I believe the valve covers were actually a dark grey with Lingenfelter written in white or silver.

Anyway.........he seemed like a nice guy, knew the basics about the LSX engines and all. He said he tried to get them to install the C5R camshaft but they wouldn't, and he got a step down from that. He said he took it to the track and driving it himself on street tires went 10.01 @ 140 or some ****. That may be the wrong mph, I will ask some of my buds that were there as well to confirm that. He said the engine work and all that cost him 35k And that it put down 717RWHP!!! A buddy of mine asked if it had a turbo or something on it and he said no, naturally aspirated. Well I didn't say nuthin but after looking at their website it says $26,500 for the 427CI pkg, and with other upgrades, half shafts, tranny, clutch, etc. etc. I'm sure the 35k is legit. But what about that 717RWHP??? It says on the site 550 BHP and 550 ft lb torque. I know that is NOWHERE near 717RWHP...what gives?? Another bullshitter huh?

Dudes on crack. My best friend has the MTI 427 in his vette and is putting down around 550 to the rear with one of their milder cams. I think that he only paid about 26 - 27 also.

I'm so confused at the mentality of people these days.

Pretty soon people are going to say they have a stock car because they have the factory seats in. or maybe their engine is stock because they have the stock block

This old guy must have been told N/A stands for "nitrous assisted". That way, he can look you plain in the face and say "I make 717 rwhp NA". Good stuff!

Lame... But he probably has been rounding up and up, and doesn't realize that he's saying stuff that makes him look silly.

I've made 754rwhp with my blower setup and for an NA setup to make the same power you'd have a full race setup like Judson from SAM. His car has made over 700rwhp I hear, but it's like 15:1 compression and he shifts it at 8500.

I remember a dyno of a corvette that made like 71Xrwhp, it was definatly spraying. I'm pretty sure it was at MTI though. It was also a 427. Imagine that

C5R heads and package can make 717RWHP.

Like the others say it is more likely N/A numbers, but DO not for a second think that 717RWHP is not possible from
a ported C5R head setup with correct manifold. Type of setup would be 400CFM head, kinsler or custom sheet metal
with tuned length runners, or custom carb - dual carb arrangement, 14:1 on the CR large tuned headers, etc.

Yes, with the correct manifold and everything else, not with above b.s.. There are three at Vette Doctors that can do this. An unristricted Katech racing C5R motor can do about 750 rwhp. You are looking at about 35-50k. There is no way with carb. or twin carb.

There is no way he going to run under 10.7 with street tires(non drag) unless cuts some serious weight out the car. Then he might get between 10-10.5 with six speed (no nos). Nos between 9-9.9 depending on the goods. 9.9 is easy for a good driver with a 427 with a 125/150 and 26 inch. 10.5" drag tire. and skinnies in the front.
