lpe gt2-3
i've been reading a lot about the gt2-3 cam, and i'm looking into getting one, but i haven't found anything that talks about where the increased power is. just curious if it actually picks up power under the curve as well and isn't more or less like an ls6 cam that just adds a bunch of top end. thanks for any help.

these numbers are taken directly from a dyno graph of another members car.He had a stock engine before and just installed the cam and springs with titanium retainers
Here are the gains over the stock cam
HP/TQ
2.5k rpm -5/-5
3k -7/-15
3.5k -10/-15
4k 0/-2
4.5k +10/+5
5K +20/+25
5.5K +33/ +30
6K +45/+40
according to the actual graph he only showed a peak gain of 35 horsepower because he shut down on the stock cam at 5500 rpm.If he would have revved to 6 it would have shown a gain of about +45/+40 within 2-3 hp.
so as you can see there is no gain before 4k.actually a slight loss. This cam in my opinion is perfect for a stock m6 car because under normal driving conditions you will maintain the same mpg and drivability and when you get on it,it will really shine. When you shift from 1st to 2nd the rpms only drop down to about 4300 rpm with stock 3.42 gears and that is right where your power begins to soar like a rocket over the stock cam.im putting it in my car and have done a lot of research.

Good cam, but doesn't gain everywhere in the power band like the CheaTR cam. This dyno graph was done with stock exhaust manifolds and cats in place.

Now lets throw another thought at this cam. I have heard that this cam works very well in a Forced Induction set up as well. Can any one shed some light on this. I planing on installing this cam here soon, so I hope I made the correct choice. Cant be worse than the stock cam, and or stock with 1.85 arms. I do understand that I cant run this cam with 1.85 arms, will be reinstalling stock 1.7,s.

I was running it i mine for a few days. Probably should have spent more time tuning it though.
I just felt it wasnt enough for me.
The GT2-3 seemed to lack mid-range, but def picked up at 5000rpm. Idled and drove beautifully though. I really should have spent more time with it, as with more tuning, Im sure it would have improved. I may swap back at a later date, but just dont have time now.
I went for a 230/236 112.
I feel I have gained power, and it does go fairly well now, but not so sure what I have gained top end is worth what I lost down low.
