Just a few questions before I order a CheaTR cam
Hey guys this question is for anyone at Thunder or Patrick G. I'm about to order a CheaTR cam cam but I'm worried about piston to valve clearance. I'm running AFR heads milled down .040(59cc's) and using cometic .040 gaskets. I just want to be 100% sure this cam will clear with adequate clearance for a 6 speed car. Also what's the best method to check clearance once the cam is in? Thanks!

With only 265 degrees of duration at .006" lift on the intake side, you've got nothing to worry about..even with the milled heads and short gasket. The exhaust has much more duration, but since we're talking only a 1.60" valve, I think you'll still have pleny of clearance there too.

I'm going through the same thing.... Here was Tony's response...
"No issues with an .040 gasket as long as your heads are less than .010
out of the hole.
You should be fine...."
My setup is
2005 C6
AFR 205s no milling
Cheater cam
.040 gasket
You should be fine....
