Exclamation Help Fast!!! Don't think I received the correct Torquer II cam!! tuning help>

I received the TSP Torquer II camshaft on a 113 lsa.

Now what I read on their website, and from what I understand, the torquer II is supposed to have (232/234, .595"/.598", 112 LSA )

I'm reading the cam card and it states:
TSP Torquer II
Int Exh
Adv Dur: 283 283
Dur @ 0.50: 234 234 Lobe Sep: 113.0
Valve Lift: 0.598 0.598

Does the 113 lsa play a role in adjusting these numbers? Or should the numbers remain constant with the LSA's?

About to receive a custom tune via Predator, but need to know if I'm working with the correct info here guys.

Appreciate any help and direction you could give real quick.

Thanks!

I attached an image of the cam card. I'm a newbie to cams, maybe you could tell me if its correct or not. Doesn't look like it.

No doubt about it, I know they will. It's late obviously, about to go to bed, and don't have access to the net really from work.

I just wanted to confirm first, as I need to make sure I provide the correct info on the correct cam to my tuner so he can work on a prog while the cam is getting installed, err, at this point reshipped.

yes, you've got the wrong cam. should be 3726/3727 lobe numbers. as you can see on the cam card you've got a 3727/3727.

the cam differences are minimal

yours:
IVO 5
IVC 49
EVO 51

TQ'er II

I've never seen one ground to those specs from us (234/234). Best to call your sales guy in the am though. Who's name is that above the grind numbers, possible drop-ship?

Well, my name up top, just spelled wrong, heh. The cam was drop shipped. It's just weird that even the cam card says Torquer II, but wrong info on it.

234/234, .598/.598 113lsa +1
Those are the .050 specs of that cam.
IMO, send it back and insist on a correct grind if that is what you want.
If you install this one, then you void any responsibility on the vendor's part as you are aware this is not the advertised grind.

Any dissatisfaction responsibility.
Scenario: SilverSmoke puts that 234 in. It doesn't perform to expectations and voila, any problem is then blamed on the cam. Torquer II is what he ordered, Torquer II is what he should get.
Who gets blamed as well? The shop that didn't provide the right cam.
So if he puts it in, he should be aware that this cam might not perform as the Torquer II (could be better or worse)

I believe that if he indeed ordered the Torquer II, then whoever sent him this one should replace it ASAP and pay for shipping.

not much of a difference at all.

I'd run it.

Spoke to Jon at TSP. He grabbed a cam card off one of the Torquer II's they had there. From what we read to eachother, it is the same cam. He mentioned that TSP's advertised numbers are different from what Comp puts on their cam cards.

This stuff is too confusing... so hopefully all will be well then...

Does this make sense?

No it doesn't.
From my experience these differences in grinds occur when original is designed with another manufacturer in mind and when ground by another with different lobes, the variables occur (meaning that these specs are the closest they could get with the lobes that they have)
I had this happen to me with a Stealth II cam from MTI.
Originaly designed for Comp lobes, ended up ground from LUNATI and was not performing as original. Ended up finding this; and cam was exchanged for an original COMP XE-R grind. What a difference.

Silversmoke- The Advertised numbers on the cam card will be different from the numbers @ .050. The numbers on both cam cards should be the same though...232/234 .595"/.598" except yous is on a 113LSA, not a 112LSA with 2* of advance ground in. I'm sure that's what Jon was talking about. The cams will perform very similar but I would like to get you what you want! Give us a call!

Definately wanted the 113 lsa, knew that much. Still confused, but as long as this is the Torquer II cam which is pushing out some nice number on an x-er cut i'm fine.

The cam is slightly different from our traditional TQ.2 grind. Is it enough to make a difference? I doubt it. I meant our advertised numbers are at .050" and what you were looking at was the .006" tappet lift numbers when you were thinking the cam was a 283/283. If you would like to change the cam, give me a call back and we'll get that cam coming back to us and get you a new TQ.2 cam on the way. Its no problem at all!

Jon
