Default Want to convert to ls6 cam... advice?

I have a'98 LS1 A4 and I'm thinking of converting to an LS6 cam. I'm not out to do anything drastic, as it's still my daily driver. I'm a jackass when it comes to doing anything other than bolt-ons, as i don't have the time or tools to do it myself.

I know I need the cam + valve springs... Anything else?

On top of this, how much can I expect to pay to have a shop install it for me? I'm trying to keep this whole thing under $1000, or am i dreaming?

ya for 1000 dollars you can get headers/y pipe and a tr224 or a more drastic cam (you said not drastic b/c of your dd) but this cam can be done for 300 dollars, or so im told...where are so good places to get a ls6 cam/springs/pushrods...TR sells the ls6 cam by itself for 300 dollars ouch

This is from SDPC
http://www.sdpc2000.com/catalog/2720...shaft-Kits.htm

And there is a whole list of cam kits from TSP

http://www.texas-speed.com/9802fbody...tFld=9802fbody

For $599 you can have any of the following cams with the spring, rod package :

25-Select231237 TSP 231/237 .598/.595 112+2 Camshaft For Cam Package $0.00

25-Select231 TSP 231/231 .598/.598 112+2 Camshaft For Cam Package $0.00
25-SelectTorquerR2 TSP Torquer Revision 2 232/234 .595/.598 112+2 Camshaft For Cam Package $0.00

25-SelectMiniStick TSP 235/240 .603/.609 113 Mini Stick Camshaft For Cam Package $0.00

25-CAMPKG2 Your choice of TSP custom-grind camshaft, Comp Cams 26918-16 valve springs good to .600" lift, Texas Speed & Performance hardened pushrods $599.99

The highlighted is my favorite for an A4.

The LS6 cam really doesn't have a noticeable gain until high in the RPMs. I have one in my car (got it off a buddy for $100). One plus to the LS6 is you dont have to tune it for it to be streetable. Mine acts fine. I still havnt tuned mine because I am about to do heads cam and torque converter. If I were you I wouldnt by a new one, they are too expensive when you look at all the other cam options available.

So what i need.

CAM
Valve springs
Push rods?

Anything else?
