FMS 408, 410, or 414?
FMS will be doing my new motor and I'm down to pretty much the size. It will have an Eagle crank, Manley 6.125 sportsman rod, and diamond pistons. Is there any reason not to go for the extra cubes while building the stroker? The motor will see some spray down the road, but prolly never over a 250. Will the larger bored motors still have plenty of strength to be durable? Really leaning to a 410 so I can have a little room later if something happens I can still have .020 to go and make a 414 (.060 bored) and clean up the walls if needed. Thanks in advance.

the possibility of going .060 with a iron block is very slim... think someone said only 25% of the iron blocks can be bored .060 over...
you would be very wise to go with a .030 bore and if down the road u can clean it up to .035 or .040 with no problems... going .040 to start will be a problem if u want to reuse the block down the line. Unless u want to spend the time and money finding a block that will go .060 over. Could take many different blocks and multiple sonic testis.

Why not go FMS 397 or 402? Offset ground stock crank (3.71") and Darton MID sleeve of 4.125 or 4.155" will be close to same displacement and will be about the same price (A Callies 4" Stroke is almost the same price as a resleeved block).
It will have two distinct NA advantages: lighter weight and better breathing above 6000 rpm due to the large bore. If you want to spray a large nitrous shot, then I say iron block all the way, but if not, then undersquare engines are the way to go. They are rev happy.

Cannibal,
Your setup rocks! Great power from a ls6 intake. A 90mm setup and that bitch would be nasty. I already have the 90mm setup and will be hoping for 550 rwhp and 525 rwtq. It should make a little better with the Donkey Dick cam alan wants to use!
MTI 427 C5 Roadster,
Give them a call. Candy is very helpful and will drag alan out of the shop if you need him. Great bunch.
