Unhappy Stalling after cam install.. HELP?

I just put in a 225/225 .558/.558 112 custom cam.. I drilled the trottle body also to give it more air, it still wants to stall when I first start it but once I start moving it does fine.. If I start it and drive about 20 feet then let it sit it will idle at about 700-800 rpms... any ideas? I tried a bigger hole also but then it idled too high.. Im lost..

are you still on the stock tune? while that cam is not huge the stock tune will need to be tweaked(most probably) to get a good idle quality

Adjust your throttle body cable. There is a little screw that you need a allen wrench for on the bottom of the throttle body where you cable connects. Turn the car on and adjust that to however high you want the car to idle at. Just MAKE SURE you count how many times you turn it. That should help out 'till you get it tuned

Hate that you drilled the TB hole larger, it makes it slightly harder for a tuner to get it just right......

My tuner ported my throttle body to match my heads and cam, and he also drilled my throttle body hole. After that, the idle was worse and the car was prone to stall. He had to fill the hole and re-drill it to it's original size. Everything was fine after that.

You should be ok with just a tune.

Yeap just get a T-15 and open the blade a little more. Just make sure your car is warm when you do it, and be gentle, open a little rev it a couple of times.
But at the end you'll need to tune.

Dude, I hope that's not the CamMotion cam we traded though the mail that you put in your car That cam had three pitted lobes.

If it's not, probably just in need of a tune. The TR224 I ended out installing starts fine cold, but had to hunt for idle for a good 20-30 sec. It also as a real pain to get running once warm. Tuning solved all these probs. I used TR, but any god tuning shop would work. (BTW, the specs on the 25 you have are nearly identical to the TR224. Just some info for tuning....)

When you turn that little torx 15 screw turn it no more than a quarter trun at a time..if you crank it up too much you will let off the gas and still be cruising along..make your adjustments small till you get it right..keep track of how much you move it..a good tune will cure all of your problems

no its not that one, thats still down in the garage with all my other junk, I had a new one made after I sold my 224. I didnt want the 590 lift or the 112 so I went a tiny bit smaller...

PS: the cam is 113 not 12 if that makes a difference.. I think Ill take it and get it tuned, I also too the EGR and AIR stuff out also which Im sure has something to do with it..

Let's be cautious when it comes to drilling the throttlebody butterfly plate and adjusting the cable stop set screw unless we have some knowledge of how OBDII and the IAC as well as the TPS work. Unless your IAC counts are so high that they are maxed out drilling a hole does little more that allowing your IAC to reduce its' duty cycle because your PCM is the Big Boss Man when it comes to idle speed. You might also make incremental changes to the closed and WOT throttle voltage values(or percentage values), but that's the shadetree way of adjusting your idle speed and you need a Scantool or a DVOM to do it properly. Your PCM is going to try to overrule you if it can. If you have those tools and know how to use them your probably not going to use this approach to idle adjustment anyway. Besides in the world of OBDII there are no shadetrees under which to do mechanic work under anyway.
