Need honest opinions ... quickly
I'm kind of on an intermission on my cam install (had a lifter fall) and had to order the head gasket/bolts ... so those wont be here for a few days. My question is ... while i'm waiitn, should I order a new oil pump and install that. I had originally left it off the list b/c i was on a budget ... but now that i'm kinda stalled on the install, i'm rethinking whether or not I should look into one.
I know its considered good insurance ... but aren't there symptoms of the pump going bad that would let me know its going out down the road. They don't just DIE and cause the engine to sieze up do they?
Car is a 2001 z28 w/ 67,000 mi.
Cam is 230/224 .575/.563 111LSA
Also, while I have the engine apart, I decided to pull and look at my knock sensors. The rear one looks brand new, but the front sensor is very corroded. Here's a pic of the two ... do you think I should go ahead and replace the corroded one while i've got it all apart?
Lemme hear your opinions please.
Thanks

i think it would be fine, as it is the LS2/LS6 pump anyways. As long as it had good pressure before, i dont feel a need to replace it, O-Rings would definatelly replace tho!
