Default Rocker arms hitting valve cover?

We recently did a cam swap on a 2000 Z28 and put in a TX speed magic stick. After the installation of this, the valvetrain, and ls6 oil pump we started it up and it has loud valve train noises coming from the driver's side only. So we took the valve cover off and there are markings on the cover where the rocker arms are hitting it. Has anyone ever had this problem or know the cure for it?

Are you using stock or aftermarket rockers? They're only hitting on the driver's side? All 8 rockers on that side or only intake/exhaust?

Stock rocker arms, they are only hitting on the driver's side and it looks like all 8 are hitting. The pushrod lengths are the same and the heads have never been off of the car.

Did you call TSP about this? You would think with just a cam and stock rockers and stock length pushrods that you wouldn't have this problem?

I am sure there's a few magicstick owners here that can chime in.

I am the owner of this car. We got it to quiet down but still ticks. We took all the rockers, pushrods, and rotated the bar the rockers sit on. Well we got a much quieter car, but still tickes. As far as which ones The back 4 are the worst ones it looks like. We dont know what the heck is going on but Any help would be appeciated!!!

You are using the stock rockers and stock length pushrods (7.4)? What pushrod length does TSP recommend for the magic stick (if different from stock)? This is odd, keep us updated when you find out the cause of this.

Edit: Nevermind, I just realized you answered my first question in a previous response.

The car has the same cam, valvetrain, rocker arm, and pushrod setup as my '98 and I didn't have this problem. We can't really find anyone with any real answers on this problem. The valve cover spacer is a good idea, but there has to be another cause for needing it.

I put some miles on the car and went back in and there was one rocker loose. I retorqued it and dry cranked it and not a sound. I put the valve cover back on and it was ticking again. I think something is up but what?? Runs fine just needs to tune it so it can idole. I am doing some searching for bigger gaskets. If they are made.
