air pump hose unplugged

air pump hose unplugged since i installed my MTI lid about an month ago i havent put a small filter on the air pump hose..it is just sitting there with nothing on it..is this ok?

can anyone answer my last question. not sure how the air system works but i hear it on at startup and randomly while driving. where does that air go to? harmful to leave the hose open w no filter?

so it doesnt really matter if i put a filter on it or leave it open right? i thought possibly some air went into the back of the intake but that cant be right bc it would be unchecked by the PCM
