Default What cam with my TC???

I have a 2002 WS6. I have

Throttle body, Lid, Headers, Catless Y-pipe, O2 simms, Exhaust. Stock LS6 intake of course

Underdrive Crank Pulley,

3500 Stall Torque Converter, Cooler. Stock 3.23 gears.

I live in Chicago and I am thinking of dropping a Cam in to end the Summer. Then putting in Heads and a 100 shot next summer.

What Cam do you recommend that will give me some good power with no emission problems and drivability issues?

Oh yeah I forgot I live in Illinois I dont have to take the Sniffer test! All they do is hook up a cable under my dash and test to see if it reads any CODES.

What will make a good combo with my set up?

Should I get the springs now or should I wait till I get heads next summer?

Thanks your input is appreciated.

You're gonna need springs no matter what size cam you go with. From what I hear, the stock springs can barely handle the stock cam.

I went with the Torquer II and I have the exact same mods as you. Right now, I'm having some minor tuning issues (mail order tune). But from what I can tell right now, driveability won't be much of a concern. Jason at Texas Speed has been more than helpful in getting me the right tune. Minor things like bucking and surging can be tuned out pretty easily.

My trans fluid was a little low, and I was having some tranny issues. Now that these issues SEEM to be straightened out I can tell you this cam kicks ***. It pulls and pulls and pulls. It's a pretty perfect setup. The converter will get you off the line like a bat out of hell, and the cam will keep the car pulling like a raped ape up top.

Actually you should find what are the shift extention range of your stall and match a cam with power range that fits within those parameters, otherwise restall or change stall.
