Default LPE GT2-3 Cam (newly bought)

So, I rolled outta bed this morning and decided I've been waiting long enough to buy a cam... two years. I always wanted the LS6 cam for emmissions reasons (living in NoVA) and I've read the comments about how it's good and how it's not worth it and blah blah blah. The LS6 seems to be out of stock right this minute, so I seriously hope I'll be happy with this cam! I got the package deal [click here] for 399.95 (+ free S/H)

Thanks guys for all your reviews,
-somebody

I like the cam, even in a heavy pig like the goat.

Have that cam in a 382 big bore motor. Open headers on an engine dyno in a small room with 850 rpm idle. You can talk to your buddy accross the room and understand him with no problems. You could take a nap and would not disturb you. I think it is the best cam for your buck with out getting stupid with computers etc.

I installed my GT2-3 last year and love it. No problems what so ever and very nice top end.

It is also one of the premier blower cams.

I also have a GT2-3 ready and waiting to be put to work and get a bit more out of my blower as well. It is my winter project along with a forged bottom end and a set of heads. Still undecided AFR 205 or 225,s.

Keep us posted on the out come.

For an NA & spray car, how would the GT7 compare with the GT2-3?

Just curios, if you have the cam, why not go with a set of LPE''s heads?? They flow just as well! I have their P&P LS6 heads 59cc with 2.02 int/1.60 exh. valves ( just got them hand blended also) on a 383 stroker. Made good power and should make more with the blending(heads) and porting of my FAST 90mm intake.

Never looked at LPE heads, I am stuck on AFR,s know they are a bit pricey, but seem to be worth it IMO.

What's the RPM limit on this GT2-3? 6200? And if so should I change my limiter to 6200?

Thanks,
-somebody

Might want to change your mind!! Take a look and get informed...LPE does an awesome job on their heads.

Not to get to far off track here but feed me some info why you think LPE would be better than AFR.

That cam makes power to 6500. LPE does not have to blow smoke up your butt to sell there products. They do not cook dyno sheets to show big power with there conservative setups they have, they just perform and you rarely see dissappointed customers.

Dont get me wrong here. I think LEP is top quality along with many others but "SS1875" feels there heads would be better than AFR,s. I would like to know why he feels that way?
