I used them on my Z06 and had a problem where all the bottom most bolts where almost 1 thread too long. We called up ARP and they said this is a known issue in some GM LS1/LS6 blocks and they actually sell a tool that taps the threads to the correct depth. But they said if we dont want to do that, we can safely grind off 1 thread off without damaging the integrity of the tensile strength.
This was a problem when we installed AFR heads on the LS6 block with stock .054 GM MLS head gasket. So this is not a problem on ALL blocks, just certain ones, seemed like GM quality control wasnt the best on that area.
Obviously if I got studs wouldve never seen or known the problem.

Just do the method we did. Put in the head bolts. If during your final torque sequence or even earlier you feel the torque wrench feels springy, then you've bottomed out that bolt. Just remove it and grind off just 1 thread. Then reinsert it and torque it down to spec.
