Default How to identify ls6 sodium filled valves?

I have a set of ls6 heads, but do not know what year they are. How can you tell if they have the sodium filled valves? Are there special #s stamped anywhere?

My intakes have an orange mark, and the exhaust have a white one. What does that mean?

If the hard tip looks like it has a gap and is not in all the way it is not a ls6 valve
. The year of the heads can tell you ls2 heads do not have ls6 valves the paint
does not mean much .

The only #s under my intake ports are 28 5.7 and 05 . There is no way it is an 06 head since it is a 5.7.

Crack them open and pour wanter in them. If you can't see anymore, they're sodium!

I weighed mine beside stock LS1 valves, IIRC they were about 10 grams lighter. It's been a while and I don't remember the actual weight. Oh I can weigh the LS1 valves tomorrow and report that weight. LS6 heads are being CNCed now.Later, Dean.

Break the stem off of one of them and if it bursts into flames then that's the sodium.
