Default LS6 Valves vs. LS2 Valves?

Hi folks. I'm doing a H/C swap soon and the the valves that's coming in the pre-assembled heads are the OE LS2 valves. Will it be worth the trouble or moving my sodium-filled LS6 valves with 11k miles on them over to the new heads or should I just stick with the new LS2 valves? Thanks in advance!!

If you can pull a couple of the LS2 valves out and measure them and throw them on a scale, then I'll sure have an opinion. I'd like to know what the differences are myself.
I have the specs for LS6 valves already.

i will save you the trouble,i weighed my new ls2 valves already,if i remember correctly the intake was about 100-101 and the exhaust was about 75 or so.The ls2 valves are .6 mm shorter then the ls6ers.

The LS6 intake valve is a hollow stem and will be a lot lighter and have better valvetrain dynamics than the LS2. The exhaust valves are a wash although the sodium filled will improve heat transfer.

I'm surprised to hear that there's any differnence at all... I figured being that the heads are the same, they were probably built on the same assembly line.. I figured production was just ramped up when that the 243 casting became the standard head on the performance engines.

The LS6 valves weigh in at 73 grams!!!! They are stainless hollow stems, you can pick up a set brankd new cheap from Katech. They have both the intakes and exhausts available in a kit for cheap compared to dealer prices!!!! Give Jason a call, he can hook you up.

Either way you should never swap valves without a valve job to make sure they seat properly.

Well, i think the valve angles are the same, i think all you'd have to do is lap them in with lapping compound available at any local autoparts store.

LS6 intake = 73 grams, exhaust = 65 grams
LS1 intake = 101 grams, exhaust = 94 grams

31% lighter on the exhaust is hardly a wash in my book.
