Ummm...He is asking about a heads/cam swap. What do you need pen magnets for? If he's pulling the heads, he doesn't need the magnets for the lifters.
For just a cam/spring swap, I use unsanded 5/16" dowels, and TDC for the springs. But if you're doing the heads, none of that's necessary.

Sorry about that....
My cam swap was a simple affair, used the dowels as I didnt trust the retainers, and the TDC method to ensure the valves didn't drop (too far) during the spring swap.
