Default Gas smell after cam swap....

I'm just curious how bad is your gas smell after a cam swap on your LS1 engine? In my case, I can't drive with the windows down because the exhaust smell will stick on my clothes.

Yes, my engine is tuned, but I'm wondering how you guys have managed the fume smell, and how bad is it?

Smell was gone after adding highflow cats. Car has a really good tune as well.

I know what you mean. The smell would stick like glue and it's not cool going into work smelling like straight unburnt hydrocarbons. Cats cured it all and also cleaned up the sound.

Hmmm...maybe I'll just have to deal with it, because in a few months I plan to purchase another vehicle, which will be my daily driver.

Same here, for some reason my car likes the lean idle. It has a sharp smell to it, v.s. with a rich idle that would smell like pure gas. My mom was behind me the other day when I left a red light hard and let off at about 130. Said that it had a really strong smell to it. I just deal with it and dont stand behind the car while its running, and dont let it warm up in a garage.

Did you lose any hp or tq when adding the high flow cats?

I wouldn't throw a lit match near my car at idle if that's what you're asking. Got a lil bit of overlap goin on.

run it out to the back if youve currently got dumps, it helps quite a bit.

Mine's not super strong, but you can definitely smell it sitting at a red light. Personally I kinda like it.

130mph? on the streets? If so That's pretty stupid.

My car is uncammed and uncatted and has a decent scent to it.
