i narrowed my chioces now wich one? head question TSP patriot
ok either TSP LS6 CNC or patriot LS6 stage 3 with the 2.02 valve.
i have the TSP 233-239 cam .598-.603 lift. i do not want to flycut!!!!!
now to get the TSP up to to my flit i need to upgrade the springs that brings it to right at 1100$. the down side is that the have a huge 335 runner and stock valves. i know the cost would go up but if they have left the runners smaller and used manily valves it would have the same flow with better velocity. this is where i thougth patriot.
IF IM WRONG ABOUT ANY OR MY SPECS IM SORRY AND PLEASE CORRECT ME.
the patriots ar 1295$. they have i think a 227 intake runner. i dont know about the valves they use if they are stock or not. but the flow numbers are really close to the same and it has a smaller runner this would make better lowend torque. its 200$ more and i am tryin to stay on a tight budget but watn to best ban for the buck so you know.
the biggest thing is i dont wanna flycut the pistons.
TSP does have the smaller valve so it will be better for PV clearance.
Patriot i can get in a 59 cc to bump comp a little.
these are just some thoughts i had and wanted so input for others cause i hav ebeen tryn to figure out what heads to get for like 4 months now and have gotten no where with all the new quality budget heads out there.
since some one will ask my palns are a good DD that i can drive to the track nail a 10 and drive home. (right now before the 9in and slicks and 200 shot i hit a 11.4 on the 150 shot, so 200 plus 9in plus H/C should get me there) it will not have to pull all week duty but i would like to drive it to work when i want.
thanks for any input you guys and gals have.

I am running Patriot's stg 2 LS6 style heads on my 02 ZO6. They make good power, but I wanted more and considered going with a bigger cam. You will not be able to run a cam with more than 230/230 with 1.62 exh valves on a patriot head, the increase in diameter of the valve and the angle at which it dives at the piston to be considered.
When I initially chose my cam, a 220/224 .586/ 114 I didnt consider the valve diameter as a PtoV factor, well it is.
I spoke with patriot and a lot of their customers are getting away with Futral's F13 cam, they said if I went any bigger Id have to check PtoV for sure. With that cam you mentioned .239/.604 exh. will probably be too big for these heads.

I just installed a set of patriot stage II LS6 heads, 2.02 intake/1.60 exhuast valves on a car last week. The cam was a 231/237 .598/.595 112lsa. I had no clearence issues, actually that cam cleared I bet a good .125 thousandths. The patriot heads used to come with rev valves. Now I believe they are ferra (spelling) not stock. Also what do you plan on putting these heads on? Stock bore size? If not I wouldnt consider the stage III heads, it would be a waste of money unless you have a bigger bore size. Just FYI.

FYI, Patriot has the same casting head as TSP. It is casting 243 wich is the LS6 casting, now being used in LS2.
You're maybe confusing their "LS6 style" which are indeed a 6.0 casting.
So that said the Patriot LS2/LS6 (243) casting can be ordered with stock valves and dual patriot spring kit, (and they come with head bolts and gasket MLS also)
unmilled with stock gasket, you can run the 233/239 cam with no issues, no flytcutting and you'll have a 300 cfm head at .600 with a 0.5 bump in CR.

The advantage to the LS6 style heads is that we can do you a 59cc chamber which will give you 11-1 compression with the head remaining at the factory deck height so that you can keep as much PTV clearance as possible. If you wanted, we could do a set of our LS6 style heads with the OEM 2.00"/1.55" valves.
Give us a call and we can go more in depth with your options and choices of what is available.

You don't' need to go with a monster cam to make big HP numbers.

My vote (obviously) TSP 2.5R's
