Default cam install and handheld?

Would a handheld such as predator be able to roughly tune an A4 with a newly installed cam (226/226) enough to drive to a shop for dyno tune. Don't they compensate for a selectable cam?

i'd rather limp it there than waste money/time on a handheld. you will be able to change the idle, and some try to mess with the A/F, but without an accurate reading - i wouldn't mess with it.

I ran my 227/224 for a week before getting it tuned. It ran fine it just would not idle very well - nothing you can compensate for with your right foot.

Don't bother with a temporary tune.

I ran my 233\233 .595\.595 112 for a week before I got it tuned..it turned the ses light on and off daily..but it ran ok ..starting it up was the hard part it had trouble finding its idle for about 15 or 20 seconds...go get your tune and you will be alright..

save the money and buy HPTuners or EFILive. a handheld isn't worth it imo - even if you won't use all the features on the full tuner, you can always learn, and have great logging abilities when you run into trouble.

all you need to do to drive a car after a cam instal is raise the idle. and hand helds can't do that, a 15 torx driver can though.
