cam install and handheld?
Would a handheld such as predator be able to roughly tune an A4 with a newly installed cam (226/226) enough to drive to a shop for dyno tune. Don't they compensate for a selectable cam?

i'd rather limp it there than waste money/time on a handheld. you will be able to change the idle, and some try to mess with the A/F, but without an accurate reading - i wouldn't mess with it.

I ran my 227/224 for a week before getting it tuned. It ran fine it just would not idle very well - nothing you can compensate for with your right foot.
Don't bother with a temporary tune.

nice, the foot solves all.
buying one anyways cause i have a set of gears going in, and i want to be able to mess w/ the trans. I was just wondering if it would help out since i'll have one newayz.

save the money and buy HPTuners or EFILive. a handheld isn't worth it imo - even if you won't use all the features on the full tuner, you can always learn, and have great logging abilities when you run into trouble.
