Default retainers and locks?

just got my new dual spring kit in today from John at TSP.
This kit didnt come with new locks . I called John on it and he said i should use my stock ones.is this correct? seems like alot of money to not even come with locks.

thanks, Matt

I reused my stock keepers with comp 918's in my old setup with out any problems. I haven't read of any one that had a problem with the stock keepers, I've never seen after market keepers for sale from any of the sponsors that I buy from including TSP. You should get some TI retainers for the springs.

Yeah, nobody has problems with reusing the stockers. You can order a set for under 20 bucks if you really want new ones though.

I don't really see the keepers going bad. They aren't a wear item.

I always buy the machined locks, good insurance for the $30. Just my opinion though.

If you can afford it, get ti retainers and locks. Give Erik at HPE a call 281 448 1300. He can get just about anything you want.

You should have a spare lock or two around when you do the swap. Those little buggers are easy to drop when they are covered with motor oil. Put plenty of shop rags around the heads to catch the lock just in case you do drop one.
