Default hotcam or 224/112

i can't decide what cam to go with tr224/112 or the hotcam i had the hotcam in my last ls1 it's cool be i hear the tr224 pulls so much harder and puts down better numbers. my car is a 01 ss m6, slp mass air, lid, slp longtubes, highflow cats, borla. i will be putting on a ory with stock muffler
and run electric cutout on the single pipe on the y pipe. what kind of power do you guys think i'll make.

Well I have a hotcam sitting on my counter top at the bar in my apartment. I recently have been thinking about the 224 cam as well and was also wondering if you guys could shed alittle more light on the subject. I'm sure dameter21 would like some more input as well. Thanks guys.

the only thing to know about the subject is 224 is going to deliver you more power than the hotcam. daily driveability with 224 is mint, and is the reason its so popular. why spend all the time to put in a hotcam when you can stick in a 224?

with a cam, swapping out those SLP LT's and putting in some pacesetters will gain you hp too

I like my hotcam. Given that you already went with it once, I'd go with the TR224 to try something different. Then, give us the comparison!

I bought a Comp-XER lobed 224/224 .581/.581 114lsa as back-up, but if I changed, it would have to be at least a 228.

Now that I write this, I'd forget the TR224 and go larger. The difference between the HC and the TR224 is probably not that large.

It may or may not. Most people are against SLP anyway, so talking them down is really common. their longtubes suck FWIW. They have crap for clearance, and do not go in or come out easy. Plus they are over priced for what you end up getting.

And the negativity you hear about SLP LTs is not because of performance, so don't worry about them unless you plan to lower your car.
