Default FIRST startup with TRak last night! (intensive read)

So here's how it went. I finished my car up last night, thinking I'd take it to Outlaw tonight for the tune. That got postponed, but that is another story I'd rather skip altogether (not a good one). I thought everyone would be out cruising, so I figured I'd try and finish my car and bring it out for a bit. Long story short, me and Ωmega got the pulley back on, radiator in, went to pour in coolant...it leaked all over. Turns out one of the gaskets in the water pump slipped out and I only had one hole lined up....stupid Adam. Anyways, we fixed that, and finally started it.

I got scared SHITLESS. I turn the key...three LOUD pops, like gunshots. I get angry with the car, walk away, come back, start it up, a little better this time. Once again, still better. Fourth time, it starts up and ROARS. I had an open y-pipe, and it was a strong, uniform choppy idle. 1K RPM, PERFECT oil pressure, then it went closed loop, idle dropped and it was heaven. So lopey and nasty, the car just shaking, not bad at all. I tried putting it in gear, didn't like that, but hey, it's an A4 with a MASSIVE cam and no tune, who can blame it? I started it again, ran beautifully, then this morning, my battery died, so I'm charging that and we'll see how it is the morning (well, afternoon) after...

No notching. Stock bottom end, stock heads. It idles surprisingly well. It sat at 650 w/o a problem, but it needs a ported throttle body to really run right, and a tune of course.

I will borrow my buddy's video camera and we'll get some footage of it, which I will post up.

You'll REALLY love the cam once it's tuned. Hold on for a great ride!

yea, i have my idle set at 1k right now, actually sounds like a smaller cam at that rpm, but damn, we put it at 750, and it chops and shakes that car bad...i prefer it not to be so shaky. We are still working on the tune. Damn thing wants to breathe though. It really needs some heads on it.

Nothing like the first start-up after a cam swap.

Yeah I can't wait til I can start my motor (that i don't have yet!)

MTI Heads, G1 cam, and a few other things will be going on then, motor will be dropping into my RX-7.....

I'm sure I'll be a little estatic...
