H/C for TR 383?

H/C for TR 383?
Well, it's almost build time and I've decided on the Thunder Racing's "race" 383 short block. Right now I am leaning towards the AFR 205's and a MS3, Crane dual valve springs, 1.7 roller rockers and hydraulic roller lifters, topped with a port-matched FAST 90/90 combo. But at the same time I'd really appreciate some input before I go to spending all that hard earned cash. I want to stay "streetable" and I don't mind having to pay a little more for top-shelf parts. Been reading around and saw that some of ya'll seem very knowledgable,so I figured this was the place to ask. Thanks for the feedback.

MS3 is a streetable cam. pretty much any off the shelf cam is streetable. you might want to look into a custom cam to match your exact setup, but with those heads and a 90/90 your gonna be having a smile on ur face regardless

Tony Mamo just got done building a series of 383's using different cams and AFR heads. he made really good power. I bet he says go with the 205's b/c they will build more low end and midrange power over the 225's. either way both are excellent choices for that motor.
good luck, and where is the dyno sheet?!!! j/k

This is what I'd do:
-T-Rex on a 114 LSA with no advance.
-Small Bore AFR 225s milled .018" to 62cc with AFR 8019 Spring Upgrade
-Cometic .030" 3.910" Gaskets
-QTP 1-3/4" HVMC Headers for F-Body or LG Pro 1-3/4" for Vette (don't know what this is going into-but both headers are long and include merge collectors, which will improve low and midrange grunt)
With the compression (12.25:1 SCR and 8.55:1 DCR) you'll make plenty of power. The T-Rex will be pretty mild on a 114 in the 383 and will deliver power smoothly with all the compression for a nice driver. And the best part, it'll run on 93 with no problems. Just ensure you have a good cooling system to handle the extra heat generated by the higher DCR.
