Does Dart offer the 225's on a 3.900 bore? If not, I would stick with the 205's.

I went with the 205's but my cam is a lot smaller than yours and I don't plan on revving past 6,200 RPM.

I went with the 225's I'm going to be installing this week and I'll be back with #'s.
The way I see it is when you port a LS6 head or any head for that matter your gonna be around 215-230 anyway ,plus the 225's have a better runner to begin with from what I'm told. I have raced many BBC with Dart 320's and 360's CNC'd, my friend who owns a high performance head co. and does many many race cars and boats told me to go 225, many people say the 225 runner is to big for a stock bore LS1, I believe it all comes down to your setup, big stall, large cam, gears and what your goals are for the car. Bob from Precision Porting even reccomends the 225 as well. All this flow talk and peak flow doesn't mean jack until you take it to the track and see what it does.

Depends on what you want.More low end torque/power under the curve (excellent street setup).Or Higher peak w/more topend (excellent drag setup).I don't think it would be a huge difference but with an m6 w/stock gears I would lean more towards the 205's.I was trying to decide on a setup like this.I think the 205's w/f13 would be an awesome street setup. And the 225's with an f15 would be a killer drag setup

What about, as a compromise, the stg.2 Dart 205s from TSP? Are they much of an improvement over the out of the box 205s?

I think Dart put a lot of R&D into these heads and their flow, which isn't totally reflected in the dry flow numbers that are advertised. I wouldn't get them ported as the only ones who understand the design is Dart. I would go out of the box, or lightly sanded but not opened up more.

The as-cast Dart 225s are excellent. The Stage II CNC ported versions have a 254cc intake runner.

I find that curious. Dart's published numbers imply their 205 flows better than the AFR 205 below .5" lift, and equal of close above it.Their 225 seems weaker at low lifts...is it really better?

The 205s may be better in the low lifts. My comment was more directed at the comparison between the CNC ported Darts (with large runners) vs. the as-cast 225s. People seem to consistently be making good power with the as-cast Darts. Initial results of the CNC ported Darts have not been stellar...time and more examples will tell thoughl.
