4.03 is normal, 4.06 is good only with a sonic check. I have seen one company make a 4.08" iron block but that was probably pretty rare that is sonic checked good.

I would just go 4.03" and leave plenty of meat on the walls if you're going to make any serious power.

as stated max is around .060 over if the block sonic checks good; and as also stated .030 over is the norm, if you wanted something differnt do a .040 or .050. it does not really get you much but you would be a little different.

I wouldn't go too crazy with the bore on a 6.0, 4.030 is a pretty good compromise. You never know when you're gonna need a hone or cleanup on the cylinders because of some stupid crap or accident internally.

I will be using arp L19 rod bolts with the rods, oh yeah turbochared

just to let you know im looking for like 800+ hp " low 9's" is it possible with these rods

Honestly cant recommend anything as i dont know LS1's that well yet im still too much of a newb to recommend anything, but i know a 4.030 bore and the stock crank is a 370. Ive thought about building that combo. Rod length wont effect the cubes at all. The different lengths can help with taking pressure off the cylinder walls some /(longer rods) but there is another downside to it that im forgetting right now. Theres alotta threads about the connecting rod length debate.

If I were you, I'd go with Eagle or Lunati rods. I wouldn't buy crap/no-name stuff off of ebay.

i don't think the .06 rule applies to the Gen 3 engines at all. i did my 5.3 L .120 over with no problems at all. the walls are pretty thick still as in i could have done way more. i would say its the machine shop guy and your call. the iron block gen 3 have walls that are thick almost syammised, but with 4.40" bore spacing and a bore of 4"...you do the math

Not the case, for example, with LS1's as they can only be bored over about .010. The LQ9 block can only be bored .060 safely with a sonic test to make absolutely sure it is fine. Anything more than that is not safe and would require sleeving.

So I am guessing a maybe 12.0:1 compression motor bored over .1 to a bore of 4.1" w/ maybe a 100 shot is out of the question?

The only way to safely achieve anything higher than a 4.060 bore is to have the block sleeved.
