Should the intake ports on my heads look like this??? (pic inside) I'm in the middle of an LS1 to LS6 intake swap and noticed that there were a lot of what looks like burnt oil build up on my intake ports......
Is this normal?
Has anyone else came accross this in there days of LSX's???
This is my first time removing the intake manifold!

Looks normal, but I'd consider cleaning them up, and swapping the valve train out while there off. How many miles on the heads Jon?

The LS-1 in those years did not have very good PCV systems, alot of guys run catch cans to help the problem, you here of people complaining about oil in the intake manifolds all the time on LS-1's. If you run your car hard the problem only gets worse.

I'll look into a catch can. Is it hard to do?
