Default is this true about the TR 224/224??

Went to the Thunder Racing webpage becuase someone is trying to sell me a TR 224/224, .563/.563, 112lsa and im wondering how much power i would put down with this cam? Their webpage claims 398RWHP and 388RWTQ with stock cylinder heads Other mods include FLP Long Tube headers, Whisper Lid, LS6 intake manifold, ported throttle body, ASP Pulley Aluminum Flywheel, and Carbon Fiber Driveshaft.

Has anybody put numbers like these? or close to them?

Do a search, you'll find plenty of results with the 224 cam on here.

i'd say its possible with a wicked tune. i'm putting down that much but i'm running a comp 224 xe-r with more lift--224/224 .581/.581 112. but i'm not running a carbon fiber driveshaft.

but to me, its just #'s

The TR224 is a proven performer. #'s are all relative though. My car has dyno'd 373rwhp and 395rwhp on the same day, different dyno's. As for power, the car has a alum. flywheel and carbon fiber drive shaft, there for less rotational mass = more hp.

But all that aside, the 224 is a great DD cam, but there are other cams out there that will net you more power if your willing to give up alil more lowend.

I'm running TR224/114 cam, see my sig for numbers and web-page for all mods.

My goal was strong power through-out the power band (favors the 114), and a great Daily Driver, which it is!

Is it possible with all the bolt ons? Yes.

Normal? A bit higher than normal.

Every car responds differently. And every car STARTS OUT differently (base line dyno, stock).

Just figure the cam will gain you 30hp from wherever you are now, with the supporting mods (headers, intake, tune, etc.).

so would this be the best cam for a dd cts-v with intake/exhaust/tune im looking for most power while maintaining ddness and safety to the motor. Plus id like a wide range of streetable power.

I absolutely love this cam. It may be over 3 years old, but it still is a phenominal daily driver cam. I've got good power at 2500 rpm, but it pulls all the way to 6800.

Because I have heavy *** wheels on the car, 19x9.5 cast HP evo's (30lbs. a peice), I've thought about doing a light wieght driveshaft and flywheel.

My graph on stock heads looked just like the one on TR's site. 399rwhp @ 386rwtq
Lid, LS6 MAF, 85mm SB, PTB, ASP, LS6I, YT1.7, TR224, LTs ORY w FM merge, QTEC and a Rapid dyno tune. Suprised even Mikey it pulled that power with stock heads. Car made 315rwhp stock

When first released the Thunder Racing 224 cam had a higher lift of .581 vs. your .563 cam. I think that dyno graph is with the older .581 cam. Why they redesigned the 224 cam by lowered the lift to .563 I do not know. Maybe because some people complained about excessive valvetrain noise with the .581 version?
