Default Oh no! Ten "extra" bolts?

I should start by mentioning that I'm a bit of a scatterbrain and that the work I have done was done a couple hours at a time over a period of a few weeks.

Here's the situation. I'm almost done with my H/C installation and I was looking things over when I noticed that there were ten bolts left on my bench lol. The bolts are all the same, they use a 10mm wrench, they are 45mm long, and I'm pretty sure that the stud size is 6mm. I used factory GM head bolt kits. Now I don't remember if the GM head bolt kits came with the 10 small head bolts or not. I know that the remaining bolts are not for the oil pan or timing cover. Someone please help me put my mind to rest and tell me whether or not the GM head bolt kits come with the small bolts.

Thank you!

The GM head bolt kits do come with a complete set for each side...I.E. the 10 long ones and 5 short ones per box...is it possible that you used the new ones and then were left with the 10 old short ones?

Ahhhh...thanks! I knew that had to be it. I just forgot whether or not if the kit included the short ones.

...all is well underneath the shade tree.....and all bolts are accounted for

Yep GM head bolts kits comes with 30 bolts. 16 real long bolts, 4 shorter but thick bolts and 10 for the top of the head which are all the same size.

Ya, I don't trust myself. Here's yesterday's comedy hour.

...After having the intake manifold and heads completely installed I realized that I forgot to install the two plugs that go in the back of the heads. An hour or two later, and many scratched knuckles I got those suckers in there without taking the manifold back off. Fun times

Thats how I feel. infact i try and take off as many unused brackets and stuff as possible. Enough extra parts eventually add up!

And yeah, those sound like the smaller headbolts. If youve got them installed then youre fine. Now if you had 11 extra bolts, id be worried.
