Default MTI-G1 cam question

A buddy of mine just pulled his MTI-G1 cam from his car with only about 5000 miles on the cam. He wanted to go to a bigger cam. He told me he would let me have it for cheap. Cam looks brand new. I have a stock 26,XXX mile 01 ws6 a4 with all bolt ons. I have a set of ported 853`s miled .018 and 918 springs. I`m gonna be buying a 3600 stall here soon as well. I was wondering if this cam would be worth messing with and would I have to fly cut the pistons?

I did a search on that cam, but wasn`t able to really find anything. He just built the motor with a procharger. He has been working on the tune forever on it. I think his best time was 10.9

i run a g5x1 which is real close. i think dur and lift is the same but theh g1 is on a 113 lsa unless you order it otherwise. not for sure on all that though. anyways i have been running my cam for about 8 months really like. put on some home ported LS6's last night and i like it even more.

How does the car feel and idle with that cam? I see your an M6 and I`m an a4, so I`m sure the idle will have to be higher on my car. I have EFILive, so tuning won`t be a problem. I just need to get a stall. Have taken it to the track any running that cam?

nice idle @800 can go lower though it gets kinda rough. really like the power band. from about 2500 up to 6500rpm. i really like this cam a lot. wouldnt want much bigger for a DD prob though. well i might its really all in the tune you know. but the power is where i need it so i will keep it.
