Default high milage

my car currently has 114000 miles on it, my mods are in my sig. i plan on geting heads and cam in a year and was wondering if my motor will hold up to the new mods. my car will probly have around 130000 miles by then. i know it has a lot to do with the tune and maintance but both of those are and will be taken care of. i bought my car with 76000 miles and since then its been maintained great, oil changes with mobil 1 every 2-3 thousand miles. my question is would it be better and safer to save up more money and get the rotating assembly replaced?

Thanks
Eric

i took appart a motor with 130,000 miles on it, still had crosshatching on the cyl walls and all the bearings showed virtualy no wear. you will be fine. i would however replace your lifters with stock replacements ($120 or so to your door) along with pushrods. IMO mobil one is a waste of money, expecialy changing it every 2-3000.

also, my current car has 130,000 state police miles and 30,000 daily driving miles on it and it seems to be doing fine.

I had a T/A that had 125k miles on it. It had stock lifters, timing set...all that good stuff and it took a 100 shot all day long.

These motors do really well with mileage as long as you stay on top of oil changes and replacing important parts like the lifters, timing set, oil pump...etc. I had to change the fuel filter once and wheel bearings.

Give us a call when your ready for a heads/cam package and we can get you set up!!

If your changing your oil with mobile 1 every 2000 miles you are wating your money on synthetic oil. You can safely run it to 6000-7000, thats what it's designed for. Would also get a high mileage filter. IF you feel bad going that far just check the color of the oil when you check it.

well w/ what you all are saying, i feel good about my car again lol.

i have 96k on her and just had the cam, lifter, dual springs,ls2 timing chain and ls6 oil pump all done. the internals did look very good. ive been using red line synthetic sine i bought it w/ 34k on the clock. my cars bottom end looked ver clean w/ also vertually no wear.

Rock on LS1!!!!!!!!!!
