Your rod bolts can't take on the nastiest cam you can get. If you turn it up over 6500 you'll be looking a new shortblock.

Your car as a whole or you (seeing as your asking this question) isnt set up to handle the nastiest cam out there. Stock botom ends are good to 7k, but some of the nastiest cams ive seen out there for a 346 will want to go to 8k. Only reason most of them go to only 8k is because I think thats as high as the stock PCM can control the motor to.

Get an ms3 with dual springs/hardened pushrods/titanium retainers/ls2 timing chain, ls6 intake, ported TB, underdrive pulley, 4000 stall, tranny cooler, pacesetter headers/ory, cutout, magnaflow catback, adj panhard rod/LCA's/sfc's, and a tune. Should be over 400 rwhp and with a sticky tire you should see low 12's high 11's

^i like his thinking...

if you don't care about driving it on the street, you should get a TRex cam. i think that cars with TRex cams are go faster than the MagicStick (MS) cars.

i talked to thunder racing you don't want the T-Rex for daily driving.... i have a 98 A4 and they said i need a min. of a 4400 stall and if your not going to be taking it to 7000 rpm its pointless and it won't be fun driving on the streets after a while

search is your friend. If you drive it as a DD you really don't want to go huge. Look at some of the cams i nthe 230-240 range and you will see soem amazing numbers with smaller cams. Bigger is not always better, especially for a A4.

I agree with him, I have almost the same stuff just wish I went with a bigger stall, but it is still a lethal combo

With that size cam dialed in and 4000 stall with proper suspension you better see mid 11's.

I saw high 11's with a 224 cam (3600 stall) and once I added heads i was in the 11.3 range.

I like driving my bigger cam. It pulls when you pull basically. I would suggest a similar grind to the cheaTR cam. Probably a custom grind is your best bet. 236/240 .6XX/62X 113-115 LSA. Something along those lines.
