Default FMS F13 cam made 299.4whp

I need some help. I have a 2000 TA A4 3400 fuddle (unlock) slp intake, flowtech long tubes 3"y and catback. I made 297whp at 4800rpms on first dyno run but my fuel pump died. We upgraded fuel pump and then i only made 299.4whp at 6200 but at 4800 only 268. Im swapping out the TC for a full lock up because it feels like it slips a lot. Aside from that im going to do a compression test.

It was a mustang dyno.

Did you bother to get this tuned?

It was dyno tuned by exotic performance plus. Air fuel mixture is like 13.3 in the mid range.. then 13.0 at around the peak and 12.8 above that.

Any dyno numbers before the cam swap? Do you have the dyno chart? If you have it, can you post it?

I dont have it with me, i think i can post it later today. like power ramps up at 4000 rpms then plateas 5000-5500 and goes back up to peak 6200. It was tuned with efi live software, after i swap out TC ill get it redone. i think something is wrong with my car. exotic performance should know how to tune an ls1 they have several in the shop most of which have over 500whp.

Seems low for a mid size converter and a mustang dyno. Does the torque peak early? Does the graph look weird in any way other than the low numbers? Maybe the dyno itself was off? Did you do the install yourself?

I had exotic performance plus install the cam/valvetrain for me. i wanted it done right :-) Ill draw a picture of the graph from memory.

Drawing isnt perfect but gives you an idea. i only had like 243 tq at peak HP i think. My torque plummets after 5.

Plummets is not good, tapering off is the norm. Unfortunately that hand drawn graph isnt really gonna help too much, but i do appreciate the effort. Do you remember what your max torque was and what rpm it was at?

no it drives perfect. except when TC locks at like 50-55mph in overdrive. rpms below 1500 with no throttle it surges or bucks, ,but if rpms are low and im giving it gas it doesnt buck at all. no misfires, it seems to really haul *** when its like 50 degrees out. during hot day feels like it did before i put in that 3400 stall. Maybe its tuning... they said i had 311whp on the phone but when i got down there it only made 299... maybe they pulled some timing? i dont know...weird.

I wonder if the cam was installed correctly. 297 rwhp is stock or lower than stock. Did they give the factory cam back to you? Something is way off I would think you should be in the 350/380 rwhp range. I see you have long tubes and a 3 inch y. Which muffler did you go with? Are you still on your LS1 intake? Have you deleted air and egr? I dont think it is your fuddle. I bought a 3500 TCI and it took me awhile to get use to it. It felt like it slipped. I sent it back to TCI and had them make it a 4000. That felt like it slipped like heck also but I got use to it. Again I doubt your problem is the stall.

How does the car feel? Have you taken it to the track? Mustang dynos can be 15% lower than a dyno jet, which would be 345 on a dynojet which is not really that low for an unlocked t/c cam only auto car.

Its faster then it was thats for sure. but from what ive been reading a lot of people dyno 30whp lower when the TC is unlocked, my doesnt lock under WOT so i think that will help some. I also feel the tune is part of the problem. I made 297 at 4800 on first tune and now i make 268 at 4800.

299.4whp/296.7tq

Peak torque is at 4500
peak hp is 6020.

At the track i did a 13.9@102.9 BUT it was an awful launch i was still sideways at 50mph. I could of easily got a low 13 but i expected a much higher trap speed.

You have something seriously wrong as your track times and mph are seriously slow for your mods...i would bet that 90% of stock ls1 cars would have a faster time and higher mph than yours now and I'd expect you to be 50-80 hp better than stock.

I would expect 113 or so trap speed, so something is up.

Check if your transmission has too much tranny fluid in it. The first time i got my car dyno'ed after the cam it only put down 302 rwhp. It turned out it was over filled, when they drained the fluid to normal level it dynoed what was in my sig. I did the tranny and cam at the same time.

#'s are more like LT1 #'s than LS1.. power and times.. strange

i would never use a DynoJet... heavily over inflated HP #'s and you can cheat them pretty easily too.
