Anyone running a 238/244 .605/.612 Speed Inc. Cam?
I've tried searching for this already, but didn't find much of anything on it. Here's the link to the page it's on:
http://www.ls1speed.com/catagory.cfm...in%20/%20Heads
I'm looking at the 238/244 for the heads/cam swap that I'll be doing before too long. It will be going in a 383, A4 car with a 3800 Yank Stall and 3.73 gears. Also, I'll be running either Patriot or TSP LS6 heads/ LS6 intake, Kook's long tubes, and true duals. I'm running JE -2cc pistons, and hoping to run 62cc heads. Just wondering if anyone has tried this cam and had any dyno graphs, timeslips, sound clips, or just any opinions on how it should perform.
I'm needing to pick a cam soon, be it this one or another one, because I sold my heads/cam and will have the car tore apart until I make up my mind.

That looks like it's making good power from that graph. I'm surprised that this isn't a more popular cam choice. Anyone else have some good info or any opinions?
Kind of considering a G5X3 also. Sounds sweet in the clips, I think that it might be a likely candidate as well.

I have a G5X3/X4 (depends on who you ask), but I also have a 346. I'd say go with the 238/244 for your application. It has a wide enough split to make good pwoer, and lift that isn't too outrageous...should be really nice. If I were in your position, I'd probably pick an MS4 over anything else though (239/242, .649"/609"). The LSK lobe on the intake side will give you a KILLER torque curve with that 383...I'm drooling just thinking about it.

The way I understand it, the 239 LSK lobe will check in as a 240, so you end up with 6 degree's of split giving you the choice of a great N/A cam as well as nitrous down the road if thats the path you choose.

I can see where you're coming from...I'm a huge fan of big splits in cams myself...hence what I'm running (234/242), and I totally agree with lilbuddy's suggestion, sounds perfect to me.

Thinking about things like this makes my head hurt.
Well, at least my fuel pump and injectors just came in via the big brown truck.
I guess I need to give Texas Speed another call today. I'm curious if they have installed any of the LSK cams in bigger c.i. motors yet? I don't think I have seen any posts on it if they have.

Cam decisions are great fun. I sold my TR224 in favor of stayin 100% stock for now. I am savin up for a differnt route once again.
This damn car has been seen a stock cube 150 shot combo, solid roller 408 (never got it installed), a stock cube T70 turbo motor (parted it out), and now heading back to stock once again. Just gonna be a bolt on car for now.
Back on subject. I think the Speed Inc cam will work out great. I also think the MS4 would be bad *** with a set of the PRC LS6 heads. You are gonna be able to get away with more cam due to the added cubes. Keep that in mind in you decision.
Dont be scared to pick a brutal cam. Your 9 inch is waiting in my garage.

Yeah, I need to make the trip up there and pick that thing up and give it a good home. That was my plan this morning, but the truck isn't in the driveway, and I don't think it'll fit in the trunk of a cavalier.
Payday was yesterday, so I'm going to get on the phone later today and get some opinions from Speed Inc and TSP. First item of business is going to town to get everything for the battery relocation/fuel pump install. Cam choices will be food for thought on the way up there.

Well, I called Texas-Speed this morning and here's what the plan is:
LS6 Cnc heads-Stage 2.5/59cc with a 239/244 .649/.611" 111LSA
They reccomended the 111LSA, said that they had better luck with it on prety much every test they ran. I'm really hoping for some good numbers and times with this setup, but I figure having a 383 with a hotcam right now, the only way that I can go is up.
The only downside is that I'm going to have to measure the pushrod length, so when I get everything together, I'll have to wait on pushrods.
