I have a 395ci but close enough. Cam is 231/236 .610/.620. Without a tune it baselined 478rwhp (10:1 A/F) in 100+ degree temps. It's probably making ~500hp to the wheels now. I could have gone with a bigger cam but wanted something tame and that makes good power from 3K and up.
Specs
99 LS1 block (forget exact specs of bore x stroke)
243 castings by Livernois (flowed 330cfm @ .600)
FAST 90/NW90 (unported)
MN6/SPEC IIIF & Moser 12 bolt!

I'd use something in the 24x/25x range.
To answer your other question, it's hard to gauge power based on cam size if the head selection doesn't remain constant: You might make 500 rwhp on a 23x/24x cam with good heads or 500 rwhp on a 24x/25x cam with not-as-good heads.

I have a 383 LS1 with 241 stock cylinder heads, 11.2:1 cr, headers with ls6 intake and a 224-230 114lsa xer grind and it's faster on the quarter mile than with the texas giant 248-254 112lsa with same setup. Best time so far is 11.37 at 121 mph (1750 DA) in a 3750 pound fbody M6 with a 9'' and steel driveshaft. This winter, I will remove spare tire, jack, front stabilizer bar and install front runners. The secret is in the part combination. Probably that the Texas Giant would be better with good flowing cylinder heads, Fast 90/90 and raised compression. My opinion is don't go too big if you don't have good cylinder heads and supporting mods or you will regret it. The 224-230 is very tame, easy to tune and torque is very good (1.52 60-foot with front end 6'' high) and very streetable (Like stock). Having a small cam like that in a 383 is a charm. With trickflow cylinder heads I think I'm good for high 10's with still 25mpg
By the way, I don't have any dyno number. My dyno is the racing track .

^ so you have the stock heads and ls6 intake and stock TB and your running 11.37??? That is sexy! Throw some nice heads, 90/90 and a slightly bigger cam and you have EASY high tens.........thats awesome.
