Default Don't Get on it if it isn't tuned?

I have what appears to be an untuned ls1 with a TR224 cam and 3500 stall. Is there a risk for me when flooring it? I was going to take it to the track soon but don't want to mess anything up.

Get it tuned, don't race it, low rpms under 4500.

If something bad happens, when would you know? I have spun the wheels quite a bit today since I just got it. I hope i didn't mess anything up!

You should always get a tune with a cam. Since i put in a small cam like the 224/224 that is the only reason i pushed it hard but i would not have done it if i would have went any bigger. Every motor is a little different and will react different, what worked for me may break somthing in yours. I would be carefull until your tunning is done.

I went through 2 motors never tuned and sprayed on both. One motor didnt like it and the other was fine.

The only reason I think it wasn't tuned is because it stalled out on me one time when going in reverse and another time when I was pulling into my driveway. Other than that it seems to drive just fine. Is there a way I can tell?

Well, if the car is rich after the install and waiting on a tune that's going to add more timing advance, I don't see it being that bad... unles it blows up.

If it were mine, it would see some WOT passes. Not abuse, but some WOT nonetheless.

With you saying you have the stall and the cam already it seems like its already tuned, but could use a re-tune. Ive driven an untuned cammed A4 and it took me forever just to lean how to get it in drive without stalling it.
