Default WOW, what about this new INCREDIBLE and affordable GM Perf LSX block coming soon!

I take it many of you have heard about this KILLER new AFFORDABLE GM Performance LSX ironblock that is going to be offered in the spring by GM that will have a HUGE BORE of 4.25 inches and when matched with a crank of 4.25 inches will make for I believe 488 cubic inches and of course they are working on getting the displacement over 500 cubes no problem.

This block is 100% compatible with all your LSX components and will drop right in the engine bay of any LSX powerd GM vehicle. It also has 6 bolts for the HEADS (the norm is 4) allowing for those wanting to keep the heads on from flying off with HUGE BOOST. This block is going to be VERY AFFORDABLE at around $1,800 to $2,000.00 and what a KILLER WAY to make an EASY 600 to 650rwhp with a somewhat mild cam, Naturally aspirated, with the killer new GM HEADS on the market.

The only disadvange will be the extra weight penalty of 100 to 125 lbs on the front of the car but for someone like me who GIVES DARN when it comes to having that much power N/A on tap.

Although I love my D1SC Blown Z06 this will probably be enought for me to go back to a naturally aspirated motor which has always been my preference (especially for road racing). Of course the f/i induction crowd will also be salivating over this as GM is making this STRONG ENOUGH to handle between 2000 and 2500 FREAKIN HORSEPOWER!!

MAN, what a GREAT TIME to be a GM GEARHEAD!!!!!!!

GM HIGH-Tech Peformance magazine latest issue (Feb. 2007 in my mail today) which states verbatim.."You'll be pleased to hear the LSX Bowtie Block projected MSRP will be around $2,500, with actual street prices likely in the neighboorhood of $1,800 to $1,900.00. Compared to any other high end block on the market-GM or otherwise-that virtual pocket change"

Are you sure that your not thinking of the projected price for the all alum. Warhawk LS7X block to be offered by WORLD PRODUCTS in the future?

am i the only one here thats pissed its cast iron and not aluminum?

personally, id happily spend 700-1000 more for the same block but aluminum.

i dont like nose heavy cars. having power on tap is great, but having a vette that maintains close to 50/50 is great. if i wanted a 70/30 car id buy a 6g camaro and put the lsx in it.

Nope...I'm just as pissed. But then again, I'm not planning on building anything powerful enough to require that level an engine block. So I guess it is kinda a moot point.

there are quite a few posts about this block already. the tall deck version will accomodate the 4.5" crank. the 6bolt heads for these are supposed to be out around the end of 07

Hey, I was next to your car when you turned onto 675 yesterday (I was in my beater).

It sounds awesome, unlike any LSx I've heard in person. What kind of duals do you have?

well you have 2 options. LS7 block or this new cast iron block that is less than a 2% weight increase in a car. if you stared off with a car that had 50/50 weight you would end up with one that had 52/48. AND that 100 lbs could be re distributed by putting the battery in the back and removing polution controls. 100 lbs is a moot point.
