I came up with 10.21 with a .056 thick gasket @ 4.060 gasket bore.

That kinda gets me too...Everyone I've seen with an LME 408 is very pleased with their motor...You should have gotten a build sheet that gives you all of the bearing clearances, comp ratio, and so on...Our set ups are similar and mine is 11.25.1..look at my sig and see if we're close.....LME uses nothing but the best for their motors..They have a great shop(clean too),Bryan,Pacos and the guys are great to work with

I don't think this is a matter of having to be unhappy, all you have to do is to have your heads miilled and go to a Cometic .045 MLS gasket to better your quench. You can get whatever CR you want.

I'd rather have your dilemma than mine. I'm having Erik build a 408 for me and was supposed to be using Wiseco -8's. Well the guy that was doing a valve job on my heads tells me the combustion chambers are 69cc, so I tell him to mill the heads .022 to bring me down to 66cc which is 11.1/1 CR. I get the heads home and I cc them only to find 63cc which puts me at 11.4/1. Now I have to go to custom -10cc pistons to get the 11.1 CR I am looking for. Not a happy camper.

I assume you have a good tuner, becuase 11.5/1, particularlly 12/1 in the summer in Texas is asking for trouble. I'm in Florida and that's why I want to go from 11.4/1 to about 11.1/1. I'm paranoid, this past August my friend nuked his engine and I think he was only 11.7 or 11.8/1

Well the tuner is myself Im not a pro, but I do know what to do to be safe as far as tuning is concerned. My motor has like 11.6-.8 CR and drive it everyday.
