Default What do yall think about these two cams that I have picked out?

I am going to put in a cam package for my SS and I need it to be completely streetable. This car will be going on the hot rod power tour and many other road trips. Im not looking for outstanding numbers or anything I just want a great all around cam that delivers good power. Well enough talk, heres the two that I have picked out

1. 224/228 585/595 on 114 LSA
OR
2. The T30 with 224/228 580/590 on 114

Any input will be greatly appreciated, Thanks alot yall!

Good choice, why not go on a 112 to help with a stronger mid-range

+1 on the 112 LSA, or 110 if you are really brave. Makes for great mid-range power. Either shouldn't be any harder to tune than some of the torquer cams that are popular in the 228/232 range right now.

If you are going cam only, consider swapping the stock gaskets for thinner Cometics or similar at about .040", and possibly milling the heads to get your compression over 11.3:1. That would help get your DCR into a range where you'll make the best power.

What lobes are those?

FWIW, after much research I decided on a 224/228 .581/.588 (XE-R's) on a 110 LSA, to be installed with no advance. Research indicates this should be "streetable". Just waiting for delivery.

224/228, 110/110

2>IVO

4>EVC
110>ECL
6*Overlap

Peak ~ 6200rpm
Good midrange trq, will carry well after peak, and far into the rpms.
