You need it in gauge length.

i measured 8 stock pushrods and they average out to be like 7.393" the shortest was 7.390 and the longest was 7.395"

Aftermarket vendors show them to be 7.4" when you go to order them.

yep after market lengh is 7.400

I thought somebody said that they were like 7.385 or something like that

Measured with a caliper they are 7.9x range, but that is AOL and not spec length. They are actualy 7.80 spec length.
7.400 spec length aftermarket actualy measure in the 7.42x AOL length.

They will measure up longer because they all use gauge length. Comp measures theirs at the point on the ball end where it is 0.140" in diameter.
