I'd recommen the TSP Torquer V3 cam. Patriot and Texas Speed have some nice affordable heads at around 1k. Your AFR's are going to run you more...almost double or better.

Use stock lifts and rockers if low miles. replae timing chain if in more then 30K miles. Most people like a big cam and heads that flow the best at high RPM. If I were you I would get the same cam as i have and a set of TSP Termintor heads. Not as much as AFR heads but alot like them. You will need pushrods, head gaskets(.040), head studs, crank bolt.

What r the specs for a G5X3? 56k is still low. PRC 5.3 stage 2.5 r a good deal for the money. What do you want out of ur car? How much money do u want to spend?

i dont want anything cheap i love my car and only want good quality stuff. however i want power and as much as i can get out of it. it is a daily driver i guess would be the best thing to say. the specs on the G5X3 are 234/242 .600/.610 in 112 or 114 LSA. as far as money i want to spend i want good stuff but the AFR's are out of the picture im a college student and as you probably know college = no money.

I just bought stock Ls6 243s which I plan on getting decked a little (probably .030") for compression and run a small (relative to a g5x3/ms3/anything in that ballpark) cam (lsk lobed 222/226 probably).

They flow easy 30-40cfm over 853s stock for stock and probably pick up an easy 30whp just bolting them on.

A set of ported heads which flow good numbers down low (IE .300-.500"lift) will see an amazing torque curve when matched with a high lift low 220s duration traditional split cam.

I am going get the PRC terminator heads they flow like the AFRs but are 200 $ less. That is a big cam. Make sure whatever heads u use you have good good P/V. That cam will give high end HP. Less low end torque. That is a big cam for a DD. That is a drag cam IMHO. I got a much smaller cam and my car is a sunny day car. WHy so big? How much do u have to spend?

i agree that is a pretty big cam...that being said that cam is one of the best cams to use with AFR 205's. Lots of people put out 450-470 rwhp with that cam, afr heads, and full bolt ons. When searching for heads you really need to look at how much you want to spend and what your power goals are. Places like TSP,patriot, and livernois sell affordable ported LS6 heads which cost about 1k but ported stock heads usually have larger runners then many of the more expensive aftermarket heads and that will sacrifice some low end, also aftermarket heads have a thicker deck which is good for nitrous

1. i want as much as i possibly can get out of it but maintaining streetability.
2. heads i can see spending around $1,500 on for complete ones and then the rest of the stuff i need is the cam, springs, pushrods, retainers etc. i already have a ported oil pump and double roller timing chain.
3. i race and get on it alot i drive it pretty much everywhere but also go to the 1/4 mile with it when its warm about 2x a month.
