Default ETP 4.8/5.3 vs. Trick Flow 205's 30 rwhp difference!!

Vehicle is an M6
Stock LS2 bottom end
HPE S cam
American Racing 1 7/8 Headers
American Racing Midpipes with High flow cats
Fast 90mm
Ported LS2 TB
160* Thermostat

We gained a solid 30 rwhp over the ETP 5.3 230cc heads. Props to Trick Flow for making some very nice heads!

Awesome results.
Trickflow heads have proven themselves time and time again with many CAM combinations.

Those trickflow heads have been getting me pretty excited seeing consistant performance numbers. It would be very hard for me to give up the AFR's though.

Good stuff Chuck!!!

New technology > old technology. Apple and orange comparison, but a comparison none the less.

Let me get the straight, you are talking about the GM 4.8/5.3 casting that ET Performance CNC machines correct?. Their signature ETP casting is not available in the 230cc intake runner. Why not compare to the ETP 215?.

More details please Chuck. Condition of ET heads? Valve springs still good? Valve job still sealing? Not touched up by another head porter?

That's what I thought too. I'd be more interested in seeing a 215cc to 215cc comparison.

Wow, that's impressive, especially considering that ET's 5.3L heads are as good as the other CNC'd 5.3L heads on the market. Guess the new stuff really is a cut above. Well done.

Comparison is useless. Next do a hypertech tune vs EFI live.

This basically shows what some are leaving on the table by skimping on stock castings.

Thats the way I see it too. It makes me glad that I spent the extra money on my TEA Trick Flows.

How is it not a fair comparison , 2 LSx heads were tested and one kicked the other ones *** . Least thats how I see it .

Test TEA 5.3's and then test TEA Trickflows and Id bet it would be a similar outcome .

That's were your wrong. The rolled valve angle alone will set the TF apart from the TEA. The ETP head in question probablly has a port that is a couple of years old if I had to guess. I highly doubt the guys at ETP have been laying alot of claim into updating stock castings since they came out with their 11* line.

regardless it shows how much there is to gain with an aftermarket casting. i dont care how old the 5.3's are they are not going to put up numbers similar to that of the trickflows with a slightly better port job.
