TR "Old Man" or "Cheater" cam
If anyone has experience & Dyno results for these cams(on a stock rear end) please post.
I was choosing between these two for my DD. It wont see the track at ALL(maybe for one 1/4 run for time). I only want around 365-380hp max. Does anyone think one of these cams or any suggested cam that could get me in this hp range?

hay bro thru my experince i had tr224 and i gain 365 only long tube headers and pullys and ram air.tr224 was the best choise i had in thunder racing for dd cam its the best choise with little loby idle sheater is verey good cam too but u well loose alot of torque in low rpm but it well give u factory idle
but if u dont mind a little loby idle i preffer tsp 228r u well get like 370 to 380hp with good tuning
but tr224 its makin verey good power too its the best for dd i got 402hp with 205 dart heads with verey bad tuning .
good luck man

You've got headers so the cheatR will be rougher on your valve train than you probably want on a DD. The old man is a little better but if you only want 360 to 385 I would look at TR220, comp 216 220, LS6 cam or something in that range.

OK I'll consider the TR220 & TR224 cam from Thunder(I thought it was too big for the hp range).
I did look at the LS6 cam, but couldn't find Dyno #s on it. Do I need longer push rods for the LS6 cam?

go for it and u well not gonna be disapointed.

FYI, the Old Man Cam and the CheaTR use the same 215 .600" intake lobe. The CheaTR uses a larger 230 exhaust lobe and the OMC uses a smaller 222 low lift lobe. The OMC is better with headers, the CheaTR is better with manifolds.

Like a XE or XE-R lobe.

Random question to add into that.... Would either of those cams work on a stock PCM tune and not need a stall converter on an auto? I'm also looking into a cam sometime this summer.

Now I'm leaning more to the Old Man cam, but I will check on more of the TR224.
I'm stuck on TR cams cuz they're close to my house and they can do the swap for me. I guess no one on here had the OMC. I wanted to hear some SOTP comparisons.

IIRC, They weren't too concerned about maximizing the exhaust lobe. I'd like to see it with thier lobe from their 220/220 cam.

my cam was designed very similar to the cheatr...its a custom grind but i couldnt be happier with it as a dd. there's power at every rpm
