Default Rockers Arms

So I pulled the drain plug last night and found all the needle bearings from my rocker arms. How many of you guys are running stock rockers on heads cam set ups? Im just trying to decide if I want to go aftermarket or not, and if so whats some reccomendations. I have a f13 and all the supporting mods in my valvetrain.

Most are using stock and the running opinion is that upgrades don't bring much to the table unless you are doing an out of the ordinary setup.

Stockers are good, but if you have to replace them i would go hardland sharp. Ya can pick them up for under 400 bucks.

Stockers with the Harland Sharp Mod. A couple of the sponsers will do this for you. I went through Nasty Performance. Around $250 or so.

No it is a common problem.

They replace the trunion with a much better desinged piece.

It's not that common of a problem, you just hear about the problems. You don't hear from the 20,000 people that are running stock rocker arms and have never had a problem.

heard mostly from 99 prior year, harlan sharp will up grade trunion. thats supposed to prevent from bearing falling out. if you go after-market rockers I would look into HS or YT. .02

Looks like I will just be going with another set of stockers since thats what money will allow right now. I know 99 and under were the main problems so I think ill be in the clear with the new updater stockers.

Just a FYI the HS rockers on my wife's car seem to cause a little float around 6600 RPM because of their weight. We are thinking of going back to the stockers with the HS trunion mod... *shrug*

my rockers are coming apart as well. GM knows it's a common issue since there is a Tech Bulletin for it. 02-06-01-029 applies to 1998-02 4.8, 5.3, 5.7 and 6.0. camaro, corvette, yukon, sierra, silverado, tahoe, suburban, hummer h2 and avalanche. replace with part# 10214664(X16) (16 rockers total). i will be doing mine soon.
