need help with cam selection
well since hopefully ill be putting the motor back together soon i want to get some ideas for a cam for my car, heres what its hopefully going to be and what i want.
6 speed car
ls1 10 over, stock crank, forged rods and piston
a set of AFRs if budget permits, fast 90mm intake, SD tune. stock wet sump oiling, and pump gas.
now the car is not a daily driver, just a weekend car/track car.
now im going all motor and im looking to make some good power up top, something thats going to make power at 7k+. i still want to keep the car a hydraulic roller. hopefully you cam gurus can show me the light at the end of the tunnel.
thanks guys, just trying to get some ideas together, would love to see the motor in the 500whp area, i know its possible.

I would get a MS4, that is the cam I am looking at right now, I have a MS3 in my auto T/A and love it, that cams specs are I think 239/242/612/609 on either a 111 or 112 lsa, it will give you the power you want up high to about 7200, just make sure you have the vavletrain to back it up

i was looking at the ms4, but im not sure if i want something a little more extreme, i also looked at the donkey dick which seems a little more extreme. im more than likely going to go with a custom grind for my setup, just trying to get the ideas before i jump into it
i would love to be damn close to that 500whp mark. i hope im not dreaming

Vengence Vindicator wouldn't be a bad choice either. 240/244 @ .050 inch lift .6x lift 112lsa 108 icl. Some one just made 440 with stock heads and an LS6 intake, if you believe the dynos.

so many choices, im not the smartest guy when it comes to cam selection, maybe patrick will chime in on this.
my goal will be around 500whp, i know i need to turn quite a bit of rpm to make that kind of power in a stock cube motor but im sure its doable. im not sure what ls1joe had in his H/C car but i heard he was turning that motor pretty high, on stock rod bolts too.

Cam-only it puts down around 420rwhp. with its matching TFS heads, its very close to breaking 500rwhp.

JDP, biggest is not best. Balanced is best. Match your components and with the right cam for the use of your car. Donkey dick and such are mostly track oriented.
For a balanced street setup such large durations are not needed. Patrick will vouch for that. You need the right compression with the right valve events for the flowing characteristics of your motor, whether intake to heads to exhaust.
Patrick will take ALL that info into consideration.

And Pred is right about size and balance. trex is what 244/242?
You honestly need to do some research as well. All you've said was you want the biggest cam you can find. Its not a good plan. Re-think. Not much to debate when you just want a "donkey dick"
