Default The TR 220 114 LSA cam is in.

I just got my car back last night, after having the TR 220/220 .561/.561 114 LSA cam put in. I really wasn't expecting the cam to make my car sound a whole lot better, or louder, but boy was I ever wrong. When I fired the my car up for the first time, I almost went into shock! I would say that my exhaust note is a atleast twice as loud at idle as it was before. Which is not an exaggeration. By the way, I'm running this cam through SLP LT headers, HF cats, and an SLP LOUDmouth exhaust. My car is so loud at idle now, that it makes it very difficult hold on a converstion if you are standing within 20 ft of the car. It's so loud that it also makes it very difficult to order food at the drive through at Burger King, which I found out right away last night. The cam also made my exhaust note sound quite a bit deeper. The cam also has a nice little and very noticable lope to it at idle. Especially since I left the stock 800 RPM idle speed. In case you still don't quite understand how loud my car is, this descripion might help, at idle, it vibrates the tools on my dad's work bench to the point where they start to move around, and almost fall of the work bench. It rattles all the windows in the house, my exhaust tips vibrate like crazy when the car is idleing, and it shakes the car a little bit too.

Although I haven't gotten on it a lot yet, I can tell that the cam added a lot of horsepower. I was cruising at 2000 RPM in first gear last night, and I only pressed the pedal down about 1/2 inch, and my car just took off like a raped Ape. The low end torque and horsepower of the TR 220 cam is unbeleiveable.

I would have to say that the best part about the TR 220 114 LSA cam, is that it sounds very mean with my exhaust setup, and it will still pass Ca emmisions.

I would highly recomend this cam to anyone who wants an emmisions friendly cam, that is very streetable, that still sound pretty tough.

By the way, according to the cam pro plus sheet that Thunderracing sent me with my cam, the final specs for it are 220.7/220.4 .553/.553 113.6 LSA.

I love this cam.

Oh, and I will have video sounclips for you guy's pretty soon.

Awesome, American Muscle! The TR220 is the cam I've decided on after reading more cam info. than humanly possible. Please get us a soundclip if you can. I'm starting to worry about how loud my car will be with FLP LT's + cats, TR220 cam, and my Loudmouth exhaust.

How does the TR-220 drive compared to the stock cam from idle to say 1500 rpm?

How well does TR-220 drive without tuning on an M6?

Will it pass OBD-II?

My car runs fine without any tuning, and while running the stock idle speed. It has never stalled once, even when running the A/C. Their is a slight surging when I'm almost to a complete stop, when stoping for stop signs, or stop lights. It doesn't surge enough to make the car feel like its going to stall though. The TR 220 114 LSA cam is very streetable.

I'm not familur with OBD-II, but I will tell you that the TR 220 114 LSA cam has passed the sniffer test in Ca before, without any special tuning.
