help deciding cam for 383
need help.. cant decide on which cam will be better for my set up.
TREX cam 242/248 .608/.612
MS4 cam 239/242 .649/.609
SI7 cam 238/244 .605/.612
custom cam from futral 239/243 .645/.610
custom cam from thunder 238/242 .605/.610
the heads are only AFR205s milled 65cc
i know the cam differences are very slight, but can those slight differences make a big difference? ideas or thoughts anyone?

I'm running a 383 here with AFR 205 heads also.
I had been using the TR224 cam, but decided this year I needed bigger. ;-)
Since I was running AFR heads, I called Tony Mamo to get his advice on a cam for my setup. Tony recomends a 4 degree larger duration on the exhaust. They offer a 234/238 cut cam, which produces great results with thier 205 heads. So that is what I am going with.
The cam install is in progess right now, actuallt today! I'm awating my friend to stop over in an hour to help me out for the day. I took the day off just for this project.
Oh, dont forget, with all those cams you listed above, including the cam I selected - you'll need to upgrade your valve springs to handle that lift! I bought AFR's larger spring set to match the cam/setup.
Wish me luck today on the cam /spring istall, and good luck with your cam choice!

I a biased towards Futral since that is who I use. I have the 239/243 cam in my 383. If you do a search under my name you can see my results. I am currently awaiting a new set of heads to replace the box stock only milled Dart 205s.

talked to Pat G. he mentioned that the old cam is well sized for the 346, but with the 383, he said 6 degrees more on duration. somewhere around 238/240 .605/.609 112LSA +2
