normal wear for cam bearings? 72k miles
is this normal wear for cam bearings with 72k? I'm in the middle of changing my cam and noticed the wear. thanks in advance.
on the crank i noticed a pattern, is it normal? what is it from?

Here is a shot of an LS7 cam bearing... prior to the motor even being assembled at the factory. I have seen the same thing several years ago on brand new C5 LS1 and LS6 motors. Note that these motors have their cam bearings line honed after installation... and it does remove surface material... and its no big deal. Key is to check tolerances. If they are within factory specs leave the cam bearings alone... too many horror stories of folks changing them out during a rebuild because the bearings "didn't look right" or "since yer in there"...
