Tapping sound when warm
Ok so the last weekend. I notice that I get a tapping sound coming more from the bottom of the engine. can't hear it from inside the car. You can really only hear it when next to other cars, outside the car. It seems to go away as the RPM's get higher. ABout a month ago I got LT's True Duals, LS6 manifold and a tune down. My oil in my engine is pretty old but not over due and around 2,100 on the oil in the car. Anyone have any idea what this sound is??

hmmm i noticed somthin...ur idle oil pressure for that engine temp seems alittle low...not "alarming" , but low(i have a 224cam w/ stock pump and it cold idles at 50+)....try to tighten up the header bolts....then check to see if u have any loose plugs....i have witnessed this (plugs being loose)

I wouldnt worry about just make sure you have oil in the car. And if it was a push rod the noise would be through out the rpm. sounds like headers and tru duals just like my car which doest do it as loud. Bottom line i wouldnt worry about it at the moment unless it gets louder, ls1s make noises(your going to go crazy when you get a cam they make some noise as well). But as i said mine makes similer noises but it runs like a bad out of hell. I mean it could be the lots of little things stock tune old plugs. something small.
I knowticed you have a 6spd. If you havent done this wrap your clutch line in tin foil and zip tie it... Also run some seafoam through the car it will clean it out alot its in the general maintanence forum. good luck
