Default Cammed LS1 needs heads. Suggestions please.

Good evening all.

To the point: My Automatic 99 T/A is cammed and I would like some suggestions from the pro's here on which heads would compliment my current mods:

Hooker Full Exhaust
QTP E-Cutout
Comp "Custom" cam (231 237 .589 .595 112LSA)
Vigilante 3600 Stall
B&M Trans Cooler
Ls1 Underdrive pulley/Harmonic Balancer
Ls6 Intake
SLP LID
Mac Filter
Eibach Lowering Springs
Bilstein Struts/shocks/mounts
Trac-Tek Tubular *Weld in* Subframes
Nitto D/R's 275/40/17
SLP Line-lock
Power Slot Rotors
HAWK pads
BMR Driveshaft Loop

The car is tuned and made 382rwhp/365rwtq with these mods.

The current plans for this vehicle are to keep it a street car until the time is right, so the stock 10 bolt rear end is not getting much abuse.

So what heads do you guys suggest and what numbers do you predict I'll get? Also, do the heads come with all the parts needed, sort of like a bolt-on (except I'll need a tune of course)?

Thanks in advance for your advice. I'm trying to learn as much as possible before I make any more modifications.

yeah what's your budget??

for street use i'd keep with a smaller runner setup...like the TFS 215s or the AFR 205s

more of a budget go for the Dart 205s

My budget: $3000. Maybe more if it seems worth it at the time

But guys, what about numbers? maybe a ball park figure of what my HP/TQ numbers might be?

Usually I'd say what the others are saying: AFR 205 or TFS 215. Actually I'd scream it at the top of my lungs not to go with stock casting heads, however, a high-stalled auto is the one exception. If it were my car, I'd save the $$$ for something else and go with some TSP PRC LS6 heads.

Usually I wouldn't recommend them over AFR 205 or TFS 215, but where those heads really earn the salt is their flow velocity through smaller intake runners. They really shine over stock casting ported heads in the lower rpms b/c of their low end torque/throttle response. Up top they are still better, but the margin is much closer. Sinve you have a high-stalled a4, throttle response and oommph down low ain't gonna be an issue.

Save that extra $1000 + towards the rear and get both heads and a rear! Or a ported FAST setup?

BTW, what rear ratio are you running right now?

Hopefully 410-420rwhp. 30-40rwhp gain. And that would be awesome, since it's an a4 and not an m6.

Livernois unmilled stage 2 (2.02/1.57), 243 casting (LS2/LS6) with Patriot Gold duals. If budget

AFR 205s milled (if higher budget)

Why not Trick Flow? because you need to buy rockers and are not PnP

^^Agreed. Or just get a set of PRC heads from TSP. Either LS6 or 5.3's. Also look into some LS7 lifters & chromemoly pushrods if you don't already have a set with you current cam. You will also need some new head bolts since the stockers are torque to yeild. You can get all this from TSP.

because the port design of the heads require different valve events.

He wouldn't have to, but it would be less than optimal for the setup. Plus there's the intake issue. Better to pick heads to work with the setup than pick heads and change the setup to work with them.

btw, anything finalized on the next meet yet?
